Project progress | EIFFAGE Asphalt plant

Capri project is obtaining its first results in the EIFFAGE Asphalt plant. The challenge is to measure dust flow in pipes under harsh conditions, something that has never been done before.

The aggregates used in the asphalt have a lot of dust, not needed all in the final mix. This dust is aspirated during the drying process through a pipe with big concentrations, high temperature and high depressure. This kind of dust is abrasive too, which complicates the durability of the measurement solutions.

Cartif is proud to share with the public the first results of a solution to this challenge, based on data from an off-the-shelf sensor that works in these harsh conditions and a new sensor development that shows very good results in the laboratory and in the asphalt plant.
