PI HUB: a Digital Innovation Hub for Process Industry

CAPRI has just started the establishment of a community of DIHs specialised in Process Industry!

 Within the activities of Community Building, CAPRI is leading the creation of a community of Digital Innovation Hubs not focused just on dissemination and communication initiatives, but with the objective of creating an inter-DIH and inter-domains collaboration to better support the enterprises of the Process Industry.

 To achieve this goal, the starting point is the SPIRE-06 community (https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/opportunities/topic-details/dt-spire-06-2019) of which CAPRI is part: six projects developing new technologies to realise cognitive production plants for different sectors of the Process Industry.

Asphalt, Steel, Pharma, Chemical, Metal, Energy, Hydrocarbon, Cement, Mineral are just some examples of the domains of competence of the six projects, being naturally part of the related communities of stakeholders and Digital Innovation Hubs.

The collaborations among DIHs will be enhanced thanks to the D BEST service portfolio analysis: the hubs, expert in Process Industry, will be provided of some standard tools to better shape their offering according to a common framework shared among several other DIHs.

The Service Portfolio analysis, to describe their offering in a comparable manner, but also to highlight strengths and weaknesses, is run according to the DBEST taxonomy.

The inspiration model is in the DIH4INDUSTRY portal (https://dih4industry.eu/welcome/), where you can see examples of DIHs and their services, mostly focussing on Discrete Manufacturing.

Now, CAPRI’s objective is to include also DIHs dealing with Process Industry, boosting the collaboration with SPIRE-06 communities.
